The Oktopus III is the first model of the third generation of our Oktopus dive watch family we originally launched in 2010.
While retaining its essential DNA from the earlier generations I and II, the watch has been comprehensively reimagined with a newly constructed movement and with literally every aspect, angle and facet meticulously modified.

DIAL
The dial pattern is inspired by the earth's graticule and with a view of making time extremely readable in both daylight and darkness.
We decided on this model to create a full dial with time only reading striving to make the essential Oktopus.
The dial is made of two layers. The bottom layer is coated with Super Luminova in the same nuance as the top layer. The cast indices and numbers at twelve and six o’clock are made in green X2 Super Luminova. The top layer is in olive green with Linde Werdelin written between eight and six o’clock.
The triangular hands are diamond cut with a central ablation, and rhodium polished with X2 Super Luminova blocks. On the hour and minute hand there are two Super Luminova blocks to ease the reading of time in darkness.
CASE
The Oktopus III is machined and hand finished in our classic five-part case construction. It is made entirely in bronze. The bronze is a classic alloy made of copper and tin with excellent corrosion resistance especially in sea water making it ideal for diving. It develops a patina, a protective oxid film that prevents deeper corrosion.
Compared to the Oktopus II the Oktopus III case is smaller. It now has a thickness of 13.6mm instead of 15.8mm and a width of 45.5mm vs 47.5mm. The case length remains the same though we have added a facet at six and twelve o’clock and cut off the case corners for a more sophisticated expression.
The case is finished with polishing and a combination of finely sandblasting and microbille facets with a sapphire case back.

Movement
The movement (LW09) powering the watch has been engineered specifically for LW and in close collaboration with master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon of Chronode whom we have worked with since 2015.
We decided to launch the third generation Oktopus with a three hand movement to create an essential Oktopus as well as a reference to the very first Oktopus launched in 2010. Through numerous discussion between us and the team at Chronode we have developed and designed the new LW09 movement.
Movement
The LW09 movement runs at 4Hz/28,800 beats per hour and has a power reserve of plus 60 hours ensuring long lasting precision. Each bridge has been sandblasted and polished with the angularity and finishing of the Oktopus case in mind. The rotor has been constructed to allow maximum visibility into the movement while also providing optimal inertia.
