Dear friends,

It has been a while since we sent you a note on our activities. The reason is a happy one — we have been deep in the production of our new generation Oktopus III, working alongside our partners in Switzerland.

We have spent the better part of two years designing the movement, the case, the dial and the hands. While it carries the same Oktopus DNA, it is a completely new watch: a new movement, the LW09, designed and developed with Jean-François Mojon and his team at Chronode in Le Locle; a newly designed and constructed dial and hands; and a case modified at every angle and facet.

Making a new generation of the Oktopus — the first of which was made in 2010 — is an iterative process between design, production and me. I have been spending far more time in Switzerland so we can discuss progress and new ideas as they emerge. I’ve been sharing some of that along the way on our Instagram, if you’d like to see the work as it happens.

A key objective has been to use exclusively Swiss-made parts throughout, and to work only with the highest-quality partners — those with the technology, skill, experience and creativity to produce our pieces, and a sole focus on craftsmanship.

Being a genuinely Swiss-made watch matters to us. It means drawing on the unique history and experience of Le Locle, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva — and to honour that, it is only reasonable to ensure 100% is made in Switzerland.

We have brought more than 20 years of watchmaking experience to the Oktopus III, and we hope it shows in every detail. There is more to come, and we will be sharing the full story on our website soon.

With best regards – Jorn
