CARING FOR YOUR LINDE WERDELIN

Your LW timepiece should be fitted carefully and closely to your wrist in order to maximise effectiveness of the winding system. Wearing other accessories can cause unwanted scratches and damage to your watch and steel bracelet.
Natural wrist movements are sufficient to wind the watch when it is worn. But when a self winding watch has not been worn for more than 42 hours and it has stopped, it should be wound manually. To do this, simply unscrew the crown from the case to position 1 and then turn the crown clockwise about twenty times.
To make sure that your watch continues to function perfectly, we strongly advise regular inspection and cleaning of your watch by an authorised LW retailer or service centre at least every 3 years.
It is essential to check the internal movement and also have water resistance seals replaced. The environment exposes these seals to temperature variances, acidity and other factors which can lead to dust and humidity causing damage to the core of your timepiece.
The oil in the watch movement is subject to evaporation over the course of time and can lead to excessive wear. Even the most dependable system may deteriorate in time.
Our water resistance test is always carried out after your watch has been serviced but we also provide this as a partial service.
Each day we are exposed to thousands of magnetic fields that can affect the time keeping of a mechanical timepiece. The watch can run too slow or perhaps too fast and in some cases stopping completely. A simple demagnetisation can be carried out by a professional watchmaker. It is always worth having this done locally if you live in different continents as shipping can be costly.
The watches are made for sports and high-endurance activities but are not suitable for high-impact sports such as golf or clay pigeon shooting.

Leather straps are not waterproof and cannot be submerged in water. They will erode internally and show signs of wear and tear rapidly. Humidity and temperature variances also damage the leather strap due to their material, therefore at LW we strongly advise customers to have a rubber strap to hand. Especially if you reside in warmer climates. Steel bracelets are more durable.
When changing the date or moonphase always change before 9pm and after 3am to avoid any collision with the natural movement of the watch.
Although our watches are water resistant, please do remember to check that the crown in fully screwed in before swimming with your watch.
Seawater, chlorine sand and perfume can have corrosive effects on your watch. Always clean your watch and metal bracelet with warm, fresh water to rinse any residue.
It is important to avoid contact with acid, perfume and other corrosive materials that can cause damage to the seal keeping your watch water resistant.
