A former Team GB National Youth Squad member in sailing, at the age of 22 Rupert took up mountaineering for the first time In April 2015.
At 23 years old, he attempted to break two records by becoming the first Briton and the youngest ever, to climb Mount Everest twice, on two routes, consecutively, however the Nepalese earthquake struck causing many fatalities and ending his pursuit.
In 2018 Rupert summited Everest and less then a year later, became the youngest Briton to summit Annapurna massive, accompanied by his LW, considered one of the most deadly mountains in the world. He was also only the 6th Briton to summit it entirely.
Rupert is currently serving in the military and combines his training and mountaineering ambitions, with plans for a record-breaking attempt on K2 in 2021, accompanied by Linde Werdelin.
You need a good watch that will tell you the time, which will tell you how much oxygen you’ve got left,” he explains. “I knew I had six hours of oxygen. But it kept working, even when it was minus 30 degrees.”

EXPEDITIONS WITH LINDE WERDELIN
In 2019, Rupert set out to be the youngest Britain to climb Annapurna, the 10th highest mountain on earth, but statistically the most dangerous mountain on the planet, with a 34% death rate mainly due to avalanche, higher even than K2.
Supported by LW and armed with his SpidoLite Titanium, the extreme weight reduction of the piece kept weight limits down, crucial for any climber but particularly on this peak. And for LW, putting our watches into extremely tough environments is how we learn how to improve them over time.
Rupert also provides us with insight on the classic 3 Timer, with GMT function and a dial evoking the longitude and latitude lines around the globe.
Rupert Jone-Warner wears SpidoLite Titanium - 3D movement with a midnight blue rubber strap.
